On August 21, the TIANS International Technology Forum 2026 was successfully held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Alan Yang, General Manager of TIANS Ho Chi Minh Center, delivered the opening remarks. He noted that the global life sciences and biotechnology industries are undergoing profound transformation, while Vietnam's pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors are demonstrating strong growth momentum. As a supporting organization of the forum, Mr. Kevin Zhao, Chief Representative of ISPE Shanghai, delivered a speech on behalf of the distinguished guests. He noted that the pharmaceutical industry in Southeast Asia is undergoing a critical phase of transformation and upgrading, with an increasingly urgent demand to align with international standards such as EU-GMP and PIC/S. The forum brought together leading expertise from the global pharmaceutical industry and regulatory sectors. A number of distinguished speakers delivered keynote presentations featuring both cutting-edge perspectives and strong practical value.

 

Dr. Hunter Song, Vice Chairman of TIANS Group, delivered a keynote speech titled Key Considerations and Case Studies on the Construction of International-Standard Biopharmaceutical Facilities. He provided an in-depth analysis of practical approaches to advanced technologies, including full life-cycle facility design, end-to-end BIM applications, and CFD simulation, in pharmaceutical facility development. His presentation demonstrated TIANS' forward-looking vision in engineering methodologies and offered practical insights for enterprises seeking to enhance construction quality and ensure successful project implementation.

Mr. Jim Chan, Manager of Public Affairs Department of Vedan Vietnam Holdings Ltd., delivered a keynote presentation titled "Introduction to Vedan Enterprise Corp. and Application of Energy-saving Automated Equipment." Drawing on Vedan's corporate development and production practices, he introduced the application and implementation of energy-efficient automation equipment in manufacturing processes. Since establishing cooperation with TIANS Group in 2019, Vedan Vietnam has taken the lead in adopting TIANS' independently developed fermentation medium sterilization system, marking the beginning of comprehensive technological collaboration and upgrading across the entire value chain. Under the partnership, TIANS serves as Vedan Vietnam's comprehensive technical service provider, delivering customized support across equipment upgrades, production optimization, and process innovation. Through multidimensional technological empowerment, TIANS has helped the company improve production efficiency and reduce overall operational costs.

Mr. Linson Tian, Vice President of TIANS Group and General Manager of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment BU, delivered a keynote speech titled Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions for Bio-Fermentation. He provided an in-depth overview of TIANS' innovative equipment and intelligent manufacturing solutions in the field of bio-fermentation. The presentation focused on comprehensive solutions including powder handling systems, fermentation medium sterilization equipment, and intelligent automatic cleaning systems for fermenters, demonstrating how TIANS empowers biomanufacturing enterprises to achieve energy conservation, consumption reduction, enhanced safety and efficiency, and refined operational management.

Mr. Leon Lou, General Manager of Synthetic Biology BU of TIANS Group, delivered a keynote speech titled Applications and Prospects of Synthetic Biology in Biomanufacturing. He provided an in-depth analysis of the industrialization opportunities for synthetic biology in Southeast Asia. He noted that global synthetic biology is entering a period of rapid growth, while Southeast Asia possesses unique development advantages, supported by abundant agricultural carbon sources and growing market demand.

Dr. Vee Revithi, Senior Consultant in GMP/GDP for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Authorities, delivered a keynote speech titled Opportunities and Challenges in Upgrading WHO-GMP Facilities to PIC/S / EU-GMP Standards. She emphasized that transitioning from WHO-GMP compliance to higher international standards is not simply a matter of document revision, but a systematic undertaking involving facility upgrades, quality system restructuring, and data integrity enhancement. Enterprises must strike a balance between investment in infrastructure transformation and maintaining production continuity.

Mr. Bob Tribe, Advisor of Asia-Pacific Regulatory Affairs of the ISPE Singapore Affiliate, delivered a keynote speech titled Navigating GMP Regulatory Inspections under EU and PIC/S Standards. He noted that international regulatory inspections are shifting from traditional "compliance checks" toward in-depth, risk-based assessments. Enterprises should establish regular self-inspection and pre-inspection mechanisms, while paying particular attention to frequently identified deficiency categories in recent EU and PIC/S inspections and the underlying systemic causes behind them.

Building a Collaborative Platform to Explore Pathways for Global Supply Chain Upgrading in Regional Industries

 

The forum featured a roundtable dialogue themed "Collaborative Development - From Standards Upgrading to Integration into the Global Supply Chain System." Through extensive interaction between speakers and participants, the session focused on common challenges faced by the regional biopharmaceutical industry in aligning with international standards, as well as practical obstacles encountered in technology implementation.
