From November 7 to 8, 2008, the 1st TIANS Science and Technology Forum was grandly held at Shijiazhuang World Trade Plaza Hotel in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. Hosted by TIANS Engineering Technology Group Co., Ltd., the forum themed on "Fully Promote the Application of Automation Technology in Manufacturing Enterprises". As the inaugural industrial technology exchange event initiated and founded by TIANS Group, the forum gathered experts, scholars and technical personnel from scientific research institutes, institutions of higher learning and many well-known enterprises. Participants conducted in-depth discussions on the practical application and development of automation technology in pharmaceutical and chemical industry, metallurgy, water treatment and other sectors.

The forum officially kicked off at 8:30 a.m. on November 7. The Honorary Chairman of TIANS Group delivered an opening address. He pointed out that the three decades from 1978 to 2008 constituted the most splendid chapter in China’s thousands-year-long history, witnessing tremendous transformations across the country as well as remarkable changes for enterprises. Against this backdrop, TIANS forged ahead through hardships and achieved leapfrog development in the decade from 1998 to 2008. Having weathered numerous severe challenges and accomplished repeated breakthroughs against all odds, the TIANS Technology brand has won recognition from all sectors of society for its quality strength, influence, competitiveness and sustainable development capacity. He stressed that the sole purpose for the Group to launch the TIANS Science and Technology Forum was to build a platform for knowledge sharing and cooperation among participating enterprises and professionals, facilitate thorough exchanges of professional theories and management experience, and jointly address the challenges brought by the ever-evolving technological trends.

The forum invited a number of erudite experts and scholars in the field of automation as keynote speakers. During the event, Professor Lang Weimin from PLA Communications Command College delivered a keynote speech titled Radio Frequency Automatic Identification Technology in Production Processes; Dr. Wang Shaohua from the Energy and Industrial Biotechnology Center, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences presented ORP Regulation in Anaerobic Fermentation Processes; Professor Chen Hongge, PhD from Nanjing Agricultural University shared Process Control Technologies for Modern Biological Industry; Wang Kezheng, Master of Environmental Engineering from Huazhong Agricultural University and Chief Engineer of North Leader Technology gave a speech on Control Processes of New Wastewater Treatment Technologies; Zhang Zhuan, Deputy General Manager of Hebei TIANS Automation Technology Co., Ltd. addressed Development History of Automatic Control in Metallurgy; Liu Wei, Chief Engineer of Hebei TIANS Automation Technology Co., Ltd. interpreted Integrated Automation Systems for Production Enterprises. Supported by practical cases, the experts delivered wonderful presentations on advanced processes and automatic control technologies applicable to various industries.
